“Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding.”
The Middle Program of Mother Divine Public School enthusiastically celebrated Maths Week from 10th November to 14th November, with the aim of nurturing logical thinking, problem-solving skills and a genuine appreciation for the beauty of mathematics.
Throughout the week, students across all grades participated in a lively array of activities designed to make learning mathematics interactive and enjoyable. The week began with the activity which was a powerful blend of logic and creativity. The Puzzle & Brain Teaser Corner encouraged students to think critically as they solved riddles, number puzzles, and pattern challenges. Students also did yoga poses which involved various angles, and patterns, allowing children to experience mathematical ideas through their bodies. By turning the familiar hop-and-jump activity into a learning opportunity, students engaged both their bodies and minds, making maths fun, active, and meaningful. Another major highlight was the Hands-on Activities, where students used practical tools and manipulatives to explore concepts such as shapes, and symmetry in a fun, engaging way.
These activities not only strengthened mathematical skills but also promoted teamwork, logical reasoning, and confidence in approaching real-world problems. The entire school was charged with enthusiasm, transforming classrooms into dynamic learning hubs filled with curiosity and discovery.
The week concluded with a sense of accomplishment and joy, reflecting the school’s unwavering commitment to holistic education and to fostering strong analytical skills among its young learners.
