Tobacco growing harms our health, the health of farmers and the planet's health.
Every year on 31st May, 'World No Tobacco Day' is celebrated to inform the public on the dangers of using tobacco, and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations. This year's theme is "We need food, not tobacco". The 2023 global campaign aims to raise awareness about alternative crop production and marketing opportunities for tobacco farmers and encourage them to grow sustainable, nutritious crops.
To inculcate awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco Mother Divine Public school sec 3 Rohini organized poster making competition on May 10,2023. Students of classes IX to XII prepared posters on 'Harmful Effects of Tobacco'. Students through their posters highlighted the risks involved in chewing of tobacco. Student of class 9 Jiya won the first position.
This activity sensitized the students to stay away from tobacco.
