Specially crafted curriculum on co-scholastic activities

The school saw the light of dawn in July, 1991as a 'Primary School' to evolve its infancy period as a building block. The time machine rolled and the school created its own niche in the field of school education, as a co- education senior secondary school, of the region. The school management, the faculty, the parents and all well-wishers joined their hands to steer the progress of the school with 'Philosophy of the founders' as the guiding spirit. An open minded, flexible intellectual, always honours the necessities of society. The management in consensus with the same, consulted professionals to chart out a curriculum to adapt the scientific, psychological co-scholastic needs of the students. A few salient features are listed to update the initiative:

Sports

It forms an integral part of personality development of a child. Apart from fitness, a child learns team spirit, problem solving and co-existence. As a part of specifically developed curriculum, the school has a multifaceted play field. In addition to our regular sports faculty, the school has engaged the team of sports professionals to train our students to the competitive level. Every student will play well at least two games before passing out the school. Special practice cum training time is given to the school team students before and after the school working hours.

Art Dance and Music

Art, Dance and Music (A D M)

The school conceptualized the significance of A D M in the holistic blooming of a child, to ensure the systematic blossoming of intellectual, mental, emotional, physical and social skills. These are the traits to ameliorate the overall personality of any individual. Every student in the 'Pre- Primary' and 'Primary' classes is supposed to choose any form of A D M. The students are even given chance to relocate in another form, if wish to do so. After middle schooling, the subjects are optional. In order to accommodate the varied parameters, the option of A D M is given to the ones who show genuine interest in these forms. The results of our students, in inter school competitions, reflect the quality of A D M facility the school provides.

Cultural Activities

A student's confidence depends how he / she carries himself / herself in public life. The cultural activities work like a catalyst to reinvigorate the behaviour and the conduct of the students in social life. Theatre, street shows, intra class and inter class, inter house events / functions give plethora of activities to motivate quantitative as well as qualitative mass participation of the students.

Educationists inscribe the role of linguistic skills as cementing the language proficiency. Those who are not comfortable in any language, find difficulty in justifying other subjects too. A dexterous and a seasoned communicator commands the society in all aspects of life. The school is an 'English' medium and strives for the appropriate usage of the language. 'Literary club' and the 'English club' are day in and day out busy in training the students for the effective and apt applications of the language. Debates, declamations, theatre in education, projects are taken to encourage creative writing, spoken and listening English. An umpteen number of books on literature, biographies, philosophy, fiction, science-based projects are made available in the school library. The students are motivated to do extra reading to enhance knowledge for horning the social skills. "DEAR – down everything and read" is a special feature of the library period of the students.

Morning Assembly

It's a great feature of a school day. The students learn the importance of prayer. The feel of togetherness and self-discipline. The state of positivity in life. On special days, special assemblies to bring information about 'National days', 'Prime days of the different religions', 'Events touching the international / national issues. A participative assembly gives opportunity to many students to experience facing the audience. In MDPS, morning assembly is specially evolved attribute of our curriculum.

The school believes in giving responsible citizens to the society, apart from acquiring quality education, who are rational human beings. A number of clubs like science club, maths club, social science club, MUN club, disaster management club etc function under the able guidance of committed teachers to bring the students closer to the realities of life. Thus, maturing the students to acquaint themselves with the real world.

Educational Excursions

The real education is when the students visit the varied historical and socially cultivated places, art galleries, museums, national monuments etc. to enrich and boost the academic knowledge. As part of regular feature, MDPS arranges excursions and tours for its students to take hands on additive knowledge, which becomes a step towards practical learning.

This is a brief touch and a glimpse of co – scholastic areas where the MDPS provides extra step to the students for learning beyond class rooms.
