"The influence of teachers extends beyond the classroom, well into the future."
To celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the first vice president of free India as the Teacher’s Day, on Tuesday, 5th September, 2023 the students of grades IX to XII assembled in the school ground. The whole school took a festive look with the 12th graders dressed up as their teachers. The entire atmosphere sparkled with their serene and dignified demeanours.
The students expressed their affection and reverence for their mentors through flowers, chocolates, pens, cards and sweets. There were many moist eyes glistening with tears when the teachers accepted and acknowledged the bond they shared with their pupils.
A small cultural programme was organized where the student teachers introduced themselves in front of the audience. It was followed by a medley of songs befitting the occasion. In his address, the guest of honour Mr. A. K. Bakshi, Academic Head urged the youngsters to follow the footsteps of their respected teachers.
Later the young teachers took over and taught in the classes for 2nd half of the day. For the first time in their lives, they experienced the efforts, patience and stamina, a teacher put in while taking a class. It filled them with a sense of gratitude for their educators.
Indeed, it was an occasion which reinforced the influence of a Guru on posterity.
