EARTHQUAKE MOCK DRILL

An Earthquake Mock Drill was executed in the school on 15th October,2024, for the students of Grade III-V to create awareness and preparedness during calamities. The drill aimed to educate students about the necessary safety measures and to prepare them for real-life situations.
The respective class teachers explained the students about the significance of the drill. At precisely 8:15 AM, the alarm sounded, signaling the start of the drill. The students quickly followed the instructions: they dropped to the ground, took cover under their desks, and held on until the shaking stopped. The classroom was filled with a mix of excitement and seriousness as everyone practiced the steps. After the drill, the teacher led a discussion to review what they had learned. The students were trained to be alert, quick and responsible, follow instructions, be calm and avoid panic to avert stampede and casualties. The students listened attentively and were eager to learn. This was followed by a review session wherein students shared their experiences. They felt more confident and knowledgeable about how to respond in case of an earthquake.
The Earthquake Mock Drill was a valuable exercise for our students , reinforcing the importance of safety and preparedness in a fun and engaging manner.
